Lorne Welwood grew up in BC’s central interior. He obtained a BA degree from the University of British Columbia in 1965 and LLB from UBC Law School in 1968. After articling with the Vancouver firm of Bull Housser & Tupper, he returned to his roots in Prince George and practiced there until 1984. He has practiced law in Abbotsford since that time, first as a sole practitioner and then beginning in 1990 in partnership with Ed Fast.
Lorne and his family currently live in Abbotsford, BC. He is a member of Clearbrook Kiwanis Club, serves on his church Council at Northview Community Church and is Executive Director of Hope Adoption Services. He has served on the executive of the Prince George Bar Association, Cariboo Bar Association, and the boards of several companies and non-profits. Lorne’s areas of practice include real estate, corporate law, charities, wills & trusts, estates, and adoption law.
