COMMERCIAL CONSTRUCTION LITIGATOR

We are seeking a talented and motivated Commercial Construction law Litigator with 5-7 years of experience to handle a diverse workload. The ideal candidates will have a strong background in commercial construction law, excellent advocacy skills and a proven track record of success in representing clients in complex litigation matters.

Qualifications:

  • J.D. from an accredited law school
  • Active member in good standing of the Law Society of British Columbia
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to think strategically
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven track record of achieving successful outcomes for clients

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a workload of commercial construction litigation matters from inception to resolution
  • Conduct legal research, analysis and drafting of pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents.
  • Represent clients in mediations, arbitrations, and court proceedings
  • Provide strategic legal advice and counsel to clients on various construction law issues, including contract disputes, payment disputes, and construction defects.
  • Collaborate with partners, associates, and support staff to efficiently handle client matters and achieve successful outcomes
  • Stay current with developments in construction law and litigation practices to ensure the highest level of representation for clients.

FAMILY LAW PARALEGAL

The ideal candidate will hold a Paralegal Diploma with a minimum of 3 years of experience working as a paralegal in a family law office.

  • Superior verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Detail-oriented with an excellent ability to multi-task, prioritize, and organize
  • The ability to work independently and within a team
  • A strong work ethic and initiative
  • Flexible and adaptable to changing work demand
  • Knowledge and understanding of the Family Law Act
  • Knowledge of Provincial Court & Supreme Court Rules

Responsibilities:

  • Preparing and drafting motions, pleadings, judgments, statements, documents, and other correspondence (e.g., debt and asset lists, witness affidavits, child support worksheets, responsive pleadings, etc.)
  • Performing legal research
  • Maintain lawyer calendars, schedule appointments and court dates
  • Serve as a liaison between the client and lawyer, conducting client interview

CORPORATE OFFICE ASSISTANT

We are seeking a proactive and organized Corporate Office Assistant to provide comprehensive administrative support to our corporate office. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, possess excellent communication skills, and thrive in a fast-paced environment. This role requires a combination of administrative expertise, adaptability, and a customer-focused approach.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as an office assistant, administrative assistant, or in a similar role.
  • Proficiency in legal software and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Exceptional organizational and time-management skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Discretion and confidentiality when handling sensitive information
  • Professionalism, confidentiality, and a commitment to delivering high-quality service
  • A proactive and adaptable approach to problem-solving

Responsibilities:

  • Handle incoming calls, emails, and inquiries, directing them appropriately and ensuring timely responses
  • Assist in the preparation of reports, and documentation
  • Maintain office supplies and equipment, initiating orders as needed
  • Support various administrative tasks to ensure the smooth functioning of the office.
