Mark Warkentin, Partner

Mark Warkentin is a founding partner of Linley Welwood, and serves as Managing Partner. His areas of practice include real estate transactions, real estate development, business transactions, financing, corporate, and commercial law. He holds a B.A. (magna cum laude) from the University of Saskatchewan (1988), and a J.D. from the University of British Columbia Law School (1992).

More about Mark

Mark has been involved over many years with the Canadian Bar Association, Abbotsford and District Bar Association, as a guest lecturer at the Professional Legal Training Course, as a presenter on legal topics at the Real Estate Investment Network (REIN), and in training for police board members. From 2014 to 2017 he was the provincial appointee to the board of the College of Traditional Chinese Medicine. From 2017 to 2019 he served as the President of the Abbotsford Chamber of Commerce. From 2016 to 2021 he was appointed to the Abbotsford Police Board. He has a special interest in public service, effective board governance, and collegial decision-making.

In 2022 Mark was elected as a Councillor for the City of Abbotsford.

As a fourth generation resident, Mark has deep local roots going back to his great-grandparents. His grandparents farmed in Mount Lehman and Aldergrove. Mark and his wife Brenda live in Abbotsford. Their children were enrolled in Abbotsford’s French Immersion program, graduating from W.J. Mouat Secondary. One is a recent graduate of the University of Oxford, and the other is studying at Trinity Western University.

In his spare time, Mark enjoys trail running, vintage cars, travel, and motorcycling.
